Our journey begins here! Did I mention Neil hired a limo to take us to the airport? He's such a good husband. Here we are enjoying the leg room while we can!
And here is a photo of KC and her fabulous shoes! No, she wasn't driving the limo (although she helped with every other darn thing that week!), just hitching a ride to O'Hare with us. Wheeeee!!!

them with us and read them while waiting at O'Hare for our flight. Man,
you people are hilarious, creative, and SO beautiful. Thank you for
making us laugh and cry...AGAIN!
Now, a few (ok MANY) hours later! We must tell you the story of our rental car. Neil had reserved a Ford Focus, and when he got up to the counter, they told him " We are out of Fords. Can we give you a Mercedes instead?" Umm... OK!!! Neil's only concern was that it wouldn't be able to handle the steep hills and our "driveway", which had a 30% grade at some points. Hertz insisted that it would be fine. So, here's "Benzi"!
And here is the car after a week of driving up and down the dirt and gravel drive to Borgo di Vagli (it's really a lot worse than it looks):
And yes, Neil did all of the driving! (we were both quite fine with this arrangement.) Here's another couple of photos of the car we rented in Italy - oh my we're cruising! ;)
