BYE-BYE BUSHES!

Wednesday, April 27th, Official Bush Removal Day!

This is what the house looked like (a few weeks ago).

Here is our new best friend Jimmy, with his trusty 2-ton Ford, wrapping a chain around a shrub. Our other neighbor, Nick is "supervising".

Here's the few seconds it took for each bush in a few photos:

Neil looks happy!! There's Jimmy's wife Cynthia. That's their house across the street.

Neil and pile-o-bushes.

Neil lopped off the larger branches for Jimmy to demolish in his shredder (which he had in their "barn" out back).

The remains of the day!!!

Here's ME helping! And man are my weak hands tired....

Bricks that lined both sides of the bushes (I'm sure it looked quite lovely at one time!).

Ta-da! It took one hour to pull the bushes, and about 2 hours to demolish the remains, move all that brick, and clean up. By 1:30 we were having burgers and beers down the street - our treat, of course. We also gave Jimmy and Cynthia the mulch from the bushes and they got some yummy smelling firewood too. Not a bad trade. :) Jimmy also has a roto-tiller that we will borrow to till the entire bed. What great neighbors we have!!!

Bye-bye Bushes! Now, if we could only get rid of that OTHER Bush....

(...to be continued! ;)
