Sandy's
first email above came as a reply to a hastily sent note after I could
not contact my sister by phone on Tuesday September 11.
Her emails
that came in the days that followed the tragedy related her experiences
as she spoke with neighbors, friends, and total strangers on the streets
of Manhattan.
I have
collected her emails and photographs here for you, with her permission.
I hope you find her "woman on the street" reports a more
personal account than you have seen in the mass media.
